Nicole graduated from Brock University with honors in Kinesiology then continued her education at
Sutherland Chan massage therapy school to become an RMT in 2016. While studying at Sutherland Chan
she was able to expand her skills by working at Sunnybrook hospital with high-risk pregnancy patients,
Lyndhurst Spinal Cord Rehab center, and Princess Margaret Lodge with oncology patients.
Nicole specializes in Swedish massage techniques including myofascial release, joint
mobilizations, and trigger point therapy. She also works in a physiotherapy clinic that allows
her to combine her kinesiology background and massage therapy knowledge to help with injury assessment
and rehabilitation. Some common injuries she treats include sciatic pain, low back strains, occupational
impairments and musculoskeletal disorders. Nicole is also certified in cupping therapy and gua sha techniques.
Nicole has been in the health industry for over ten years. While working in the industry, she has found a passion for discovering high tension areas and identifying the root cause of the symptoms. Realizing she was fascinated with the mechanics of the human body and its pathological systems. Nicole obtained her licence in 2016 and is always enthralled with the mechanisms of the muscular-skeletal system and why the body may have difficulty with functionality.
Many common conditions Nicole treats involve chronic body pain, acute conditions, repetitive strains/injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, myofascial pain, whiplash, headaches, sciatic syndrome, and frozen shoulder. Nicole will often advise post treatment specific exercises which involve stretching and/or strengthening for specific muscles that may help reduce pain and increase range of motion and flexibility.
Nicole is also registered a regulated Acupuncturist and certified in Thai Massage. Nicole recognizes the importance of continuing to develop new skills to increase her knowledge, and growth as a Massage Therapist.
There is no greater accomplishment to Nicole then being able to provide her clients the care they need and deserve. Making sure her clients receive the proper care they need is her ultimate mission and she appreciates their motivation to live a healthier lifestyle for their well being.
